Biofeedback FAQ
We know you have questions. This page is here to help you understand biofeedback, the Cynchronisity approach, and how our complementary wellness practice may support your individual journey toward greater awareness, balance, and well-being.
Before You Begin
1. What is biofeedback, and how does it work?
Biofeedback is a technology-based process that provides information about how the body responds to different forms of stress and stimulation.
At Cynchronisity, biofeedback provides another lens for observing patterns in the nervous system and understanding how your system is responding in the moment.
We begin with you, not a predetermined protocol. A phone consultation helps us understand what brings you to Cynchronisity. Each session begins with another conversation because life happens, and what matters today may differ from what mattered when you first called.
We consider the information gathered alongside your experiences, goals, and observations. The process creates an opportunity for awareness and meaningful change.
2. What is trauma-informed biofeedback?
Trauma-informed means that your experiences, boundaries, nervous system responses, and sense of safety matter.
We recognize that people respond to stress and life experiences differently. Sessions are conversational, individualized, and responsive to where you are that day. We create space for awareness, choice, regulation, and greater understanding of individual patterns.
You remain an active participant in your experience, and your pace matters.
3. What happens before my first Cynchronisity session?
Your experience begins before you walk through the door. A phone consultation gives us an opportunity to understand who you are, what brings you to Cynchronisity, and what you hope to accomplish.
Each session begins with another conversation. Stress may have increased, something unexpected may have happened, or your priorities may have shifted. We take that into consideration before shaping the session.
The process begins with listening.
4. How do I know if Cynchronisity is right for me?
Cynchronisity may be worth exploring if you're curious about your stress patterns, interested in nervous system regulation, seeking complementary wellness support, or looking for another perspective on your current experience.
A conversation gives us an opportunity to learn what you're looking for, answer questions, and help you determine whether Cynchronisity is an appropriate fit.
5. What if I don't know which Cynchronisity service I need?
That's completely okay. You don't need to arrive with the perfect terminology or know which service belongs on your calendar.
Tell us what you're experiencing and what you're hoping to understand or support. We can explain the options and help you determine an appropriate place to begin.
The Cynchronisity Experience
6. What happens during my initial Cynchronisity experience?
Your initial experience builds on the conversation you've already had with us. We discuss what is happening in your life, conduct an individualized biofeedback assessment, and explore your experiences, goals, and patterns.
Depending on the service and what is appropriate, the experience may incorporate biofeedback, visual and auditory processing, pattern recognition, guided meditation, chromotherapy, sound modalities, or other complementary practices.
We consider the information gathered as part of a larger picture. Following the session, we dedicate additional time to reviewing the information and preparing your personalized report.
7. What is included in my initial comprehensive experience?
Your initial comprehensive experience includes a conversation about your concerns and goals, an individualized biofeedback assessment, observation of relevant patterns, and individualized inquiry. Exploration of visual and auditory processing may be included when appropriate.
Following the session, we review the information gathered and prepare your comprehensive personalized report. We begin with where you are.
8. What is included in my personalized report?
Following your initial comprehensive experience, we prepare a personalized report documenting relevant observations from your Cynchronisity experience. Depending on the service, it may include areas for awareness related to stress responses, nervous system regulation, sleep and restorative practices, recovery, resilience, or lifestyle considerations.
The report provides a reference point for reflection and future conversations. You may share it with your physician, therapist, specialist, or other healthcare professional when appropriate.
The report is not a medical diagnosis.
9. How does Cynchronisity work alongside my existing healthcare?
Cynchronisity is a complementary wellness practice designed to sit alongside appropriate medical and mental healthcare.
We integrate biofeedback, nervous system awareness, guided meditation, chromotherapy, sound modalities, and other complementary approaches according to the individual and service selected.
Your personalized report can provide another perspective to consider alongside your existing care.
10. How much time should I expect to invest?
The time commitment depends on the service, your goals, and the level of support that makes sense for you.
The initial comprehensive experience establishes a starting point. Follow-up services can be tailored according to what you've learned, what has changed, and what you want to explore next. Structured packages are also available for those who want a more consistent process over time.
11. Why are packages or a series of sessions sometimes recommended?
Some patterns become clearer with time. A single experience can provide an important starting point. A series creates opportunities to observe patterns, notice changes, reassess what is happening, and refine the approach.
A structured package provides room for a more complete process rather than treating every appointment as an isolated experience.
12. Why does each session begin with another conversation?
Because you are not the same person you were at your last appointment.
A stressful event, a difficult conversation, a family situation, disrupted sleep, a new insight, or even a particularly good week can change what deserves attention. We check in so that the experience can reflect where you are today.
13. What makes the Cynchronisity experience different?
Cynchronisity is built around the individual. Your experience begins with conversation. Your current circumstances matter. Biofeedback provides another lens for observing patterns, and we consider what we learn from you alongside the information gathered.
The process may incorporate biofeedback, nervous system awareness, visual and auditory processing, guided meditation, chromotherapy, sound modalities, and other complementary practices according to the service selected.
14. Is Cynchronisity therapy?
Cynchronisity is a complementary wellness practice. Services support awareness, relaxation, nervous system awareness, and whole-person wellness.
If you work with a physician, therapist, psychiatrist, pediatrician, or other healthcare professional, Cynchronisity can exist alongside that care.
15. Is Cynchronisity considered complementary or alternative medicine?
Cynchronisity is best understood as a complementary wellness practice. Complementary approaches are used alongside conventional medical or mental healthcare.
For people seeking complementary wellness approaches in Naples, Florida, Cynchronisity offers an individualized perspective centered on awareness, nervous system regulation, and whole-person wellness.
16. What does whole-person wellness mean at Cynchronisity?
It means you are more than the concern that brought you through the door. Your experiences exist within a larger context that can include stress, environment, relationships, habits, sleep, emotions, and nervous system responses.
We consider that larger picture while creating an individualized experience. The process begins with the person.
17. Can Cynchronisity help with mental health?
Cynchronisity provides complementary wellness support for people interested in nervous system awareness, stress regulation, relaxation, and understanding their individual patterns.
Biofeedback can provide information that increases awareness of physiological responses associated with stress. Cynchronisity may become one part of a broader support system for someone receiving appropriate mental healthcare.
18. What concerns do people come to Cynchronisity with?
People come to Cynchronisity for many reasons. Some are navigating significant stress or overwhelm. Others are interested in nervous system regulation, relaxation, sleep, focus, emotional regulation, recovery, resilience, or understanding recurring patterns.
Parents and caregivers may seek support while navigating the needs of their children or families. The conversation helps us understand your reasons for reaching out.
Your Care
19. Do you work with children?
Yes. Cynchronisity offers experiences for children adapted to the child's age, needs, communication style, attention, and comfort.
Age-appropriate interaction, toys, games, and other supportive approaches may be incorporated when appropriate. Children's experiences are scheduled for one child at a time so attention can remain focused on that individual.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to share relevant information before the experience. Every child deserves to be seen as a whole person.
20. Can Cynchronisity work alongside my child's existing providers?
Yes. Children often have several people supporting them, including parents, pediatricians, therapists, educators, specialists, and other professionals.
Cynchronisity is designed to complement that support system. When appropriate, your child's personalized report may provide information you can choose to share with members of their healthcare team.
21. Can Cynchronisity support parents and caregivers?
Yes. Parents, grandparents, and other caregivers often spend so much time caring for someone else that their own needs move to the background.
Cynchronisity creates space for caregivers to pause, reconnect with themselves, become more aware of their stress responses, and explore practices that support regulation and restoration.
Practical Questions
22. Can I receive Cynchronisity remotely?
Yes. Remote services are available depending on the service selected. Remote participation can be helpful for people who live outside Naples, have demanding schedules, prefer not to travel, or feel more comfortable in their own environment.
Before your remote experience, we'll confirm the communication method and explain what you need for your appointment.
23. What's different about remote and in-person Cynchronisity?
The primary difference is where you participate. In-person experiences take place at Cynchronisity's Naples location. Remote services allow you to participate from your own environment.
The appropriate format depends on the service, your preferences, scheduling needs, and what is practical for you.
24. How long are Cynchronisity sessions?
Session length depends on the service and the level of support you're receiving.
The initial comprehensive experience includes approximately 90 minutes together, followed by approximately one additional hour of dedicated report preparation.
Follow-up services are customized according to the individual and the goals being addressed.
25. What should I do to prepare for my session?
Keep it simple. Complete any requested paperwork, wear comfortable clothing, and arrive with enough time to settle in. For in-person biofeedback experiences, we recommend bringing water.
Most importantly, come prepared to have a conversation. You don't need to arrive with all the answers.
26. What might I experience after a session?
Everyone responds differently. Some people describe feeling relaxed, calmer, lighter, more present, or simply more aware after an experience. Others may feel tired and want some quiet time afterward.
We encourage you to notice your own experience rather than expect a particular response. If you experience something unexpected or have a health concern, contact the appropriate healthcare professional.
27. How safe is biofeedback?
Biofeedback is a non-invasive approach that provides information about physiological responses. Your individual circumstances matter, which is why your conversation with us is an important part of the process.
If you have a significant medical condition, a medical device, are pregnant, or have another concern that could affect participation, discuss it with us and your healthcare provider before scheduling.
28. Are Cynchronisity services covered by insurance?
Cynchronisity services are not billed through traditional health insurance.
Some clients may choose to use an HSA or FSA when their specific plan permits reimbursement for an eligible service. Please confirm eligibility directly with your plan administrator before scheduling.
The Cynchronisity Philosophy
29. Will Cynchronisity interfere with my religious or spiritual beliefs?
Cynchronisity is non-denominational and does not require a particular religious or spiritual belief system.
We respect each person's beliefs and do not ask clients to adopt a specific faith, philosophy, or spiritual practice. If spirituality is meaningful to you, you're welcome to include that perspective in your experience.
There is room at Cynchronisity for both curiosity and belief.
30. Are you my healer?
We see our role as facilitating awareness, exploration, and change. We bring experience, tools, observations, questions, and perspective to the process while you remain an active participant in your own experience.
Cynchronisity creates an opportunity to better understand your patterns and explore practices that support greater awareness and regulation.
31. How is Cynchronisity different from a doctor's or therapist's office?
Cynchronisity occupies a complementary space. A physician brings medical training and can diagnose and treat medical conditions. A licensed mental health professional brings specialized training in mental and emotional healthcare.
We bring a different perspective centered on biofeedback, nervous system awareness, pattern recognition, individualized exploration, and complementary wellness practices.
32. Do I have to be in Naples, Florida?
No. Cynchronisity is based in Naples, Florida, where in-person experiences are available. Remote services may also be available depending on the service you're considering.
If you're outside Naples and interested in a remote experience, reach out to discuss whether it is appropriate for your needs.
33. Can Cynchronisity work with my existing healthcare team?
Yes. Cynchronisity is designed to complement appropriate medical and mental healthcare.
When appropriate, your personalized report can provide a reference point you may choose to share with your physician, therapist, specialist, pediatrician, or other healthcare professional.
34. What if I've already tried everything?
You may already understand your experiences intellectually, know your triggers, and have tried different approaches. You may feel that understanding something hasn't changed how your body responds.
At Cynchronisity, we begin with what you already know. We listen to your experience and explore what may still be happening beneath the surface. We then consider whether Cynchronisity has something meaningful to add.
35. Why do I receive a report after my initial experience?
Your experience deserves to extend beyond the time you spend together with us.
Following your initial comprehensive experience, we dedicate additional time to reviewing the information gathered and preparing your personalized report. It provides a reference point for observations from your initial experience and can help guide reflection, future conversations, and decisions about your Cynchronisity process.
36. What happens if I still have questions?
Ask. You don't need to have everything figured out before you reach out.
Tell us what you're experiencing, what you're curious about, or what brought you to Cynchronisity. We can answer your questions, explain the available options, and help you understand whether Cynchronisity may be an appropriate fit.
