Biofeedback isn’t a one-size-fits-all process—it’s more like physical therapy for the nervous system. Just like learning to tie your shoes or ride a bike, it involves repetition, reinforcement, and developing a new pattern that your body and brain can recognize and return to on their own.


For instance, following a TBI (traumatic brain injury), with the goal has been to reduce headaches and support emotional regulation. These challenges tell us that the nervous system has been working overtime just to stay afloat. Biofeedback sessions gently guide the individual's system back toward balance—helping it remember what calm, clarity, and stability feels like.


Most people begin to feel noticeable shifts after 4 to 6 sessions, but more lasting changes usually take place over 10 to 20 sessions, depending on the severity and how long the symptoms have been present. We reassess along the way, tuning into what’s improving, what still needs support, and how your system is adapting.


We’ll know it’s time to pause or stop when:

  • Your symptoms (like headaches or emotional reactivity) noticeably decrease in frequency and intensity.
     
  • You begin recovering more quickly from stress or setbacks.
     
  • You feel more like yourself and can maintain that state without needing ongoing sessions.
     

Think of this work as a partnership with your nervous system. We're not forcing change—we're building a resilient foundation from the inside out, and that takes time, kindness, and practice. Every session is one more step toward helping your body do what it was always designed to do: heal, regulate, and thrive.


 

Depending on the severity of what’s being addressed—and how much support the body needs to restore balance—it’s generally recommended to begin with six weekly biofeedback sessions. This gives the nervous system time to recognize and begin holding a new, healthier pattern. In some cases, like post-TBI recovery or addressing aggressive behaviors, sessions twice a week may be more appropriate to accelerate progress and offer greater stability during the early stages.


As your system begins to adapt, we often shift to bi-weekly or monthly sessions based on how you're feeling and what your goals are. This rhythm of regular entrainment (helping the brain and body “remember” balance) supports long-term well-being and helps you maintain the gains you’ve made.


Many clients benefit from consistent sessions for concerns like insomnia, emotional dysregulation, or addiction recovery. One client began sessions after an appendectomy and later surprised her physician with an unusually smooth recovery—she had none of the incontinence that’s often expected after that surgery. Another client with “foggy eyes” post-cataract surgery noticed improvements in her vision after committing to weekly sessions.

Here’s some food for thought: just like you wouldn’t expect a medication to work if you only took one dose, biofeedback and energy work also require consistency to create lasting change. While even a single session may provide deep relaxation or reduce inflammation, it’s the repetition that helps your brain and body truly remember how to stay in balance.


 

First, thank you for entrusting us with your care and well-being. For in-person sessions: Please bring forms for session. (Located right above this section) Please wear comfortable clothing and a bottle, preferably a gallon of water, and meet Cynthia in the lobby of the French Quarter Suite D-100. Once in the office, Cynthia will ask your body what it wants/needs as her intent is to create results. Next, depending on service, you may be lying down for  color light therapy, sound or even guided meditation. For initial biofeedback, Chromotherapy, Eye-patterns trauma release, and all-inclusive sessions you may start in sitting position and transition to lying down. In any scenario, know you are safe and your needs and desires will be discussed and addressed as best as possible in allotted time. Have any questions, just ask!  Anyone seeking holistic healing for stress and pain relief can improve their health and can benefit from Cynthia’s holistic approach. Whether you’re dealing with stress, chronic pain, emotional imbalance, or looking for deep relaxation, Cynthia will tailor your care plan to suit your individual needs. 


Biofeedback is a safe, non-invasive technique that works by creating awareness of how the body responds to stress. It helps balance the body’s natural rhythms without the use of medication. Many clients find it to be a valuable complement to conventional medical care. Those with pacemakers are unable to have biofeedback sessions.


Cynthia's services are not covered by traditional insurance. However,  Flexible Savings Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Accounts (HSA) do reimburse biofeedback sessions. These accounts often cover wellness services that enhance physical and mental health. Although services are not covered by insurance there are long-term health benefits. Because stress is a silent killer, seeking ways to balance it can have a greater cumulative effect much like financial investing, it is investing in your whole self.


There is no difference in the strength or effectiveness between in-person and remote sessions. Energy knows no boundaries, and Cynthia effectively connects with clients’ energy remotely. Remote sessions are ideal for those who prefer not to be physically touched or have limited time. Before each session, Cynthia will confirm your preferred communication method (video, text, or email) and ensure a seamless experience.

It varies depending on service(s) being provided.

Tuning Forks, Eye Patterns Trauma Release, Crystal therapy and Chromotherapy glasses, if booked alone are 30 minute sessions. For adults sessions are an hour and a half for children they are an hour long. Depending on what is requested, sessions and the experience will vary. 


Guided meditations are 1 hr in length and are personally developed from your consultation with Cynthia atleast 2 days prior your scheduled session.


With biofeedback in-person sessions an individual is sitting in a chair with a pad that is sending balancing energy from a connected interface that has been connected to a computer. Cynthia‘s software then displays what stressors are being exhibited within the client's body. This helps Cynthia facilitate creating awareness within the client to make lifestyle changes based on their session. With energy work sessions typically the individual is lying down and Cynthia is using various modalities from energy work, crystals etc to facilitate a deep relaxation. 


Wanting and needing DEEP relaxation? Book an all inclusive session with Biofeedback, Guided meditation, chromotherapy glasses, light therapy and aromatherapy for your maximum benefit. Your mind, body and spirit will thank you.


For children's sessions, Cynthia does have toys and or games for children and Cynthia to play with. She Incorporates play therapy skills into her sessions, she is not a play therapist, however. If you have special toys your child enjoys please feel free to bring those  to the session. At this time, Cynthia requests one child per session. Focus needs to be on the individual child to create the requested outcome. If parent attends child's session it is booked as and charged as a parent and me session.


Please bring any necessary paperwork, including the Client Consent and Basic Information Forms. For biofeedback sessions, bring water—ideally a thermos or gallon—as it will be charged with energy during your session. Think of your brain and spine as the electrical system of your body. Water is the greatest conductor of electricity. Your brain and spine needs water for optimal functioning to communicate effectively with your body. Wearing comfortable clothing and having an open mind will also enhance your experience, all this will assist and contribute to the effectiveness of the treatment.


Each person’s experience is unique. Most clients feel a sense of deep relaxation, balance, and renewed energy. Some may experience a post-session detox whether it be emotional, physical or some other way. Others may feel tired afterward, and experience a need for energy healing recovery which is a sign that the body is healing. Both biofeedback and energy work promote detoxification, so increased elimination (through sweat or digestion) is common.


Is your stress elevated and are you not handling everyday activities well or are you overly "sensitive"? These are some signs its time to reschedule. Your body will often signal when it’s time for another session.Other signs include repeating unhealthy habits, feeling stuck or sluggish, digestive issues, skin inflammation, or sleep disturbances. If you’re struggling to shift certain behaviors or feeling unbalanced, a session could help restore harmony. 


 Yes, biofeedback can help regulate stress responses, while energy work supports emotional balance. Together, they promote relaxation and can reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and emotional distress. 


Cynthia’s services help support various conditions, including chronic pain, insomnia, anxiety, digestive issues, and emotional imbalances. She has assisted parents and their children through behavioral challenges, dysregulation, even learning difficulties. She also works with clients dealing with recovery from surgery or trauma, offering a personalized approach to healing. 


Yes, biofeedback is gentle enough for children and can be customized to meet their unique needs. Cynthia creates an engaging, calming environment using toys and interactive techniques to make sessions enjoyable for younger clients. 


Cynthia’s services complement all spiritual and religious beliefs. Biofeedback and energy work are non-denominational healing modalities. They provide insights into how thoughts, diet, and environmental factors create physical experiences, without contradicting religious principles.
